La Mia Strada, a feature length documentary offers a perspective on ethnicity and culture as it links ancient and contemporary italian culture and history of families divided by an ocean with its Italian-American counterpart. The director, Michael DiLauro will be on hand to talk about the art of the documentary and his own quest to connect with his Abruzzo roots.

Household Saints, a film by Nancy Savoca. A Fineline Features film, a story of three ordinary women for who the harsh domestic realities of post-world war II Little Italy (NYC) are miraculously transfer into something magical. Savoca, the diretor of the critically acclaimed Dogfith and True Love,, directs Tracy Ullman, Lili Taylor, and Vincent D’Onofrio in an adaptation of the novel by Francine Prose. The director will be with us to talk about the art of film-making, her Italian American heritage, and her special devotion to this film.
