Despite their history of violence, the Flatheads and Blackfoot did meet peacefully. The first two pieces both display the meeting of friends in the frontier. Despite the Blackfeet battling the Flatheads throughout Point’s experiences on the Frontier, they eventually opened up to the Blackrobes, either through choice volition or due to force. In “Ambrose’s Declaration,” we see the Salish instructing a Blackfoot chief to join the Flatheads to learn the Lord’s Prayer. The final piece depicts the Salish bringing their Blackfoot prisoners to meet the Jesuits. despite their initial resistance, the Blackfeet eventually invited the “Blackrobes” into their territory.
