For those of you who missed the festivities, the Klarchek Information Commons was officially dedicated in a lovely ceremony last Friday, December 7th. When doors opened at 11:45 am, visitors were greeted by volunteer docents providing detailed information about the building’s history and technologies. Although final touches on the interior will not be complete until January, the carpeting and furniture were in place, making it easy to imagine the space filled with students. All in attendance gathered around the statue of St. Ignatius to hear remarks from those involved with the project.

The dedication ceremony lasted about an hour and featured speeches by President Garanzini, Board Chairman Michael Quinlan, Dean Robert Seal, architect Devon Patterson, student representative Blake Anderson, and donor Richard J. Klarchek, for whom the building is named. Following the speeches, the building was officially blessed with the help of Provost Christine Wiseman. Visitors then enjoyed self-guided tours of the new building and a festive reception.
