The University Libraries will hold its next Library Speaker Series event on Thursday, October 23rd 2008 at the Lakeshore Campus. The topic of this event is The 2008 Election: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.  Dr. Alan Gitelson, professor of Political Science at Loyola University Chicago, will give a timely overview and analysis of the 2008 elections. His focus will be on key aspects of a political campaign including the nomination process, campaign financing, campaign strategy, tactics, polling, and the role of the media in the campaign.  There will also be a question and answer period during the event.  Dr. Gitelson is a frequent guest commentator on radio and television for political and election issues, as well as a faculty author.  His book, American Government, is in its eight edition.
