Library Speaker Series Event: Dr. Alan Gitelson Discusses the 2008 Presidential and Congressional Elections

gitelson1.jpgThe University Libraries will hold its next Library Speaker Series event on Thursday, October 23rd 2008 at the Lakeshore Campus. The topic of this event is The 2008 Election: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.  Dr. Alan Gitelson, professor of Political Science at Loyola University Chicago, will give a timely overview and analysis of the 2008 elections. His focus will be on key aspects of a political campaign including the nomination process, campaign financing, campaign strategy, tactics, polling, and the role of the media in the campaign.  There will also be a question and answer period during the event.  Dr. Gitelson is a frequent guest commentator on radio and television for political and election issues, as well as a faculty author.  His book, American Government, is in its eight edition. 

Please join us for this thought provoking event on Thursday, October 23rd 2008 at the Crown Center Auditorium located on the Lakeshore Campus, 6525 North Sheridan Road.  The event starts at 6:00 p.m. and admission is free.  Following the discussion there will be a reception.  Please RSVP to Carol Franklin at 773-508-2641 or cfrankl@luc.edu.
