The University Archives has two new exhibits on display in the Cudahy Library Donovan Reading Room. The north wall cases of the Donovan Reading room celebrate the Centennial of Daniel Burnham’s 1909 Plan of Chicago. Materials from the University Archives and Special Collections highlight the City of Chicago before the creation of the plan; the Great Chicago Fire; the World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893; the 1909 Plan of Chicago and Chicago after the Burnham Plan. Principles of the Burnham Plan still resonate today as the City of Chicago plans for the future.

The south wall cases of the Donovan Reading room feature selections from the Jesuitica Collection highlighted by images of Loyola Jesuits who have taught in the respective areas displayed.  Comprised of works in the areas of Philosophy, Theology, History, Literature, Classical Studies, and the Sciences, this exhibit pays homage to the liberal arts foundation of Loyola.
