Calling all creative geniuses…show us your library! The Library Video Tour Contest started on August 31st, but you’ve still got a couple weeks until the October 2nd deadline. That should be plenty of time to put together a short video tour of Cudahy Library and Klarchek Information Commons!

Videos should be geared to those new to Loyola, especially incoming freshmen and transfer students. First prize receives a $100 gift card! The contest runs from Monday, August 31 through Friday, October 2. Submit your entries soon, we can’t wait to see your take on the library!

The collection includes early issues of the newspaper which are very difficult to locate and which are not included in the digital edition of the Chicago Defender sold by Proquest and accessible to Loyola student’s, faculty, and staff from the Libraries’ home page.

The Abbott-Sengstacke Family Papers are part of the Chicago Public Library’s Vivian G. Harsh Research Collection of Afro-American History, located at the Carter G. Woodson Regional Library. A finding aid produced by the University of Chicago’s Mapping the Stacks project is available at:
