I just wanted to share with you a comment asked by a visitng parent not long ago, "do you know the name of the Dean of libraries and what does the shield mean". To be honest it took me a minute to think of your name but the shield I had a copy in my desk.
A parent asked this question about a yr ago and I asked Fr. Daffron, what Ad MAJOREM Dei Gloriam meant , to the greater glory of God.

This is a great coup! Many thanks to Dean Seal and all those who worked to bring this agreement to fruition. It will assist teaching and research at Loyola immeasurably.

Hi Pat,

True, it's not a direct acronym. LOCL stands for *LO*yola university *C*hicago *L*ibraries.

Thanks for the comment.

What wonderful news! Congratulations to the library staff at both universities. I know that many students and faculty will find the reciprocal borrowing arrangement with Northwestern to be most useful; I certainly am delighted about this development. Many thanks to you all for this.

For Catholics and other religions, the removal of "abortion" from certain key databases can represent as a victory to some extend.

What a great resource for demographic research. It seems exceptionally useful for a number of potential projects in several fields.
