Please note that there will be a Discover Loyola Session on Level 3 tomorrow in the IC from approximately 10-Noon.

The reference librarians will not work in the consultation office during Interim.  However, we do keep our assigned hours at our own desks and are available by phone or IM if needed.  Reference Graduate Assistants will continue to staff the 2nd level desk throughout the interim.  Please call a librarian if you need assistance.

Just want to double check with this group to see if anyone knows the location of a student ID for Haneen Hussein.  She is listed in the IT lost/found log.  We have checked the 2nd floor IC desk carefully, the Cudahy Desk twice, and called Campus Safety.  The ID does not appear to be in any of these locations.  Let me know if you have any ideas.



Please make sure that you discharge marker items as soon as they are returned.  Today I received a long list of overdue items, many of which have been returned already but not discharged.  If you have any questions about how to discharge an item properly, please ask me or another supervisor.

Laptop computers should be discharged by Lab Services staff only.

Next semester we may change the procedures for checking items in/out.  If you have any suggestions on improving this process, please let me know.

FYI.  The Level 2 IC Student Staff will work on the 4th floor during your week day evening shifts.  Mary will try to help out on Level 2 when she is available.  I have asked the librarians to come out to the desk if it appears busy, but feel free to prompt them to work with you if you are starting to feel too busy for one person.



Some of you have stored books in the locked cabinet of the former reference desk at the Cudahy Library.  Please remove the books within the next day or so (Monday or Tuesday) in order to free up the desk for the next phase of transition.

The elevators will be unlocked and students will be able to access the 4th floor. There will be an IC employee stationed on Level 4 to monitor the activity on the floor. This floor is to be used exclusively by students who want a silent place to study. This means that there will be no conversations allowed on this floor and all cell phones will need to be set to vibrate so as not to disturb others on the floor.
