April 2010

Until a few moments ago, a two volume set titled the Encyclopedia of Natural Disasters was on display on the second floor of the IC.  I removed Volume 1 to make way for new display volumes but Volume 2 was not there.  If you see it, please hold it at the second floor desk for me.  I’ll be watching for it.  Thanks, everyone.

Please note that there is ValuePort in Cudahy, next to the Circulation Desk.

Good morning everyone. The ValuePort in the IC is currently down. A service call to the Campus Card office has been placed and we are awaiting a resolution to this problem. We are directing people the Online Card Office and to other ValuePort locations for the time being. Thanks for your patience.

FYI. The PR Committee has asked us to place a Pegasus Survey at the Reference Desk. Please encourage students to fill out the survey and place it in the envelope. It really only takes a minute!

If the forms run out, please contact Beth Andrews in Interlibrary Loan and copy me.

When shelving reference books, please look at the label and make sure that the book is a reference book (marked “ref”). Some of the materials that are on the shelf belong in the main stacks or with the bound journals.

FYI. If an ID or valuable item is turned in and you are unable to find an IC supervisor on duty, please hold on to the item and e-mail Ross, Leslie, or other relevant supervisor to ask them to pick up the item as soon as possible.

The Recycling Avenue collection box for small electronics has been moved to the Digital Media Lab.

Sadly for us, Josh Cummings has moved on to a very interesting job in the bursar’s office. His last day with us was last Thursday.

Also, Mary is on vacation this week so there will not be a supervisor on duty most evenings this week. Please let me know of you experience any problems. I am checking with Lesie to see if there is anything that can be done about access to lost & found materials. Ted is coming in at 6:00 on Thursday.
