When we are unavailable for a chat question, the request is supposed to transfer to a shared service provider who will answer the question on our behalf. This is what happens to chat questions asked during the night and on holidays.
We’ve learned that if we simply change our status to “busy” or “away” the questions do not transfer to the shared provider. They go unanswered.
Please begin to log out of the chat service when you leave the desk or know that you could not respond were you to receive a question.
